Uncertainties are unpredictable and ubiquitous. They appear in all aspects of our life, such as is structural and mechanical systems subjected to external loads due to earthquakes, rough roads, winds, ocean waves, and aerodynamic forces. Other examples include meteorology, ecology, economy, etc.. Many random factors, such as weather, government policy, natural disaster, and war, affect economy. Stochastic dynamics investigates dynamical systems with stochasticity in excitations and/or system parameters. This lecture will give basic concepts of stochastic dynamics and some applications.
